Mickey Waffles MAKING YOUR OWN Most folks recommend that the “secret ingredient” in Mickey waffles is Carbon’s Golden Malted Flour. Here’s a good recipe to use for Mickey Waffles: 4 eggs, separated 1 cup milk 2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt (optional) 2 cups flour 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted 1 tbsp sugar 1 tsp vanilla (optional) Beat egg yolks and sugar in a bowl until light. Add cooled melted butter, milk and vanilla extract. Add flour, baking powder & salt, beat well. Beat egg whites until stiff and gently fold into batter. Bake and serve. | #FoodieFriday This food is near and dear to my heart! This was the very first Disney foods I heard of and wanted that I actually sought out and ate!! When I was a child my favorite movie to watch was the Disneyland Sing along song! In this one scene they were eating Mickey Waffles from that day forward my ultimate goal in life was to have one of these amazing shaped waffles...and did I mention I don't even like waffles?? Fast forward a few years and I finally had one! I was in High School my Senior year and we were staying at All Star sports. Our flight got in very very late and the food court was closed...So first thing in the morning I got up and dressed before the mad mob of other teenage girls in my room did and made my way to the food court! I found the coveted Mickey waffles! I got 3 mini ones and was then asked if I wanted strawberries and whipped cream....Umm is that even a question??? I paid the man and headed to a seat to claim my prize!! The first bite was pure wonder!! How soft and crunchy and warm! I was in heaven pure waffle heaven. Ever since that moment it is a must do for me! Now if you are craving this amazing treat you can try to replicate it at home, try as I might and as tasty as it is the feeling is just not there...I prefer to eat my waffles in the company of Pooh Bear or a Castle but that's just me...So on to the recipe... Show me you favorite Disney foods!! #FoodieFriday |
